Special Initiatives

CED has been designated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Beaver County Commissioners to offer various commonwealth sponsored economic development programs in Beaver County.

Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ)
KIZ provides tax credits to for-profit innovating companies less than 8 years old in targeted industries within certain municipalities. An approved KIZ company may claim a tax credit equal to 50% of the yearly increase in gross revenues, not exceeding a $100,000 tax credit annually.

Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ)
KOZ areas help induce economic growth by eliminating specific state and local taxes within underdeveloped and underutilized areas meeting specific program criteria. Areas are designated based on state legislation, approval of local governing bodies, and approval of appropriate commonwealth agencies.

Keystone Enterprise Zone Program (EZP)
EZP addresses distressed areas within designated municipalities by providing priority consideration for certain grants and business loans, Pennsylvania tax credits for certain real estate investments, priority consideration when bidding state government contracts, and special financial consideration for clean-up of contaminated sites, among other programs. To obtain determine if your business has a project that may qualify for assistance under one of these programs, please complete a project profile and return it to our office. We can then advise you if you qualify and, if so, how to proceed.
